Why aren’t we more compassionate — Daniel Goleman

Ted Talk by Daniel Goleman, the author of "Emotional Intelligence," who asks what inhibits us from experiencing and acting on compassion.

He talks about many things in the talk, but at one point discusses his internal process for self-examining his own emotional responses to a donation. This is telling and a good example of both metacognition, and spiritual work.

Daniel Goleman discusses how we experience compassion, and how we can enhance that experience.
